BGM BigBox Sport V2 for Vespa PX200
Performance like a racing exhaust - looks like a standard exhaustThe BGM BigBox Sport V2 is a thoroughbred Vespa racing exhaust with the unsuspicious design of an original exhaust. It positions itself as a clear alternative to large and conspicuous resonance exhaust systems. The high level of performance clearly sets the BBS2 apart from other box systems. Designed for performance-oriented drivers who appreciate the benefits of an inconspicuous vehicle.
NEW BBS V2
The basic concept has been retained and merely adapted to the increased demands of higher engine outputs and displacements. The BGM BBS2 (=Big Box Sport V2) has enlarged pipe cross-sections both inside the box and in the tailpipe area. This effectively prevents the fading that often occurs with very powerful engines (above 30 hp).
The often criticized ground clearance of the manifold has also been changed. The system is now fully suitable for everyday use and has the same ground clearance as a comparable resonance exhaust.
As with the Big Box Touring V2, the BBS2 now also has a connecting link between the manifold and the exhaust body.
REQUIREMENTS
Like any good racing exhaust, the BGM BBS2 requires a powerful engine concept in order to develop its full performance. In the environment of cylinders such as the Quattrini M244 or Malossi MHR, it offers impressive results. It easily supports engine outputs above 25 hp and pushes forward with plenty of torque. Despite its high peak power, the Sport Box engages early and also enables comfortable riding. Due to its consistent design for high throttle throughput, the BigBox Sport is not intended for use with close-to-production engines or tame tuning cylinders. It requires a clear and powerful exhaust pulse to fill the large volume and thick manifold of the Sport Box with life.
ACUSTICS
Due to the high engine power, the BBS2 cannot be a 'quiet' exhaust. As with all exhaust systems, there is always a balance between muffling volume and the engine capacity for which the exhaust system is designed. With the very limited space underneath a Vespa, it is therefore very difficult to accommodate the necessary muffling volume for an engine with 220cc and more without compromising performance. The BBS2 therefore represents a compromise between maximum performance and acceptable noise levels.
PRO:
Near-series appearance
Peak power like a resonance exhaust
No power hole
Wide rev band
More top speed
Fits Rally/Sprint without modifications
Massive construction with clamp on the cylinder
Handmade in Europe
CON:
Not for vehicles with 8-inch tires (ground clearance too low)
Not for near-series engines
The manifold is attached to the cylinder using a clamp. Compared to a loose mounting with an O-ring seal, this provides the best stability and prevents damage to the exhaust flange. For optimum ground clearance, a long spacer should be used on the rear shock absorber.
